Buyers who check their camera mount compatibility first will rarely regret this lens due to its versatile focal range and bright aperture. Full-frame users who buy it by mistake are the main exception.

Should you buy this?

Buy it if: If you are a Sony APS-C mirrorless camera owner looking for a versatile everyday zoom lens, spending ₹45,990 makes total sense. You get a bright f/2.8 max aperture for portraits and low-light street photography, plus built-in vibration compensation. The trade-off is that it adds some weight to your compact camera body compared to standard kit lenses. If you shoot a mix of landscapes, street scenes, and casual portraits, this single lens covers all those bases without needing multiple primes. At ₹45,990, it replaces several focal lengths neatly. You will just have to deal with the physical size of a constant f/2.8 zoom when carrying your camera around all day.
Skip it if: If you currently shoot on a Sony full-frame mirrorless camera like the A7 series, you should skip this lens because it is built specifically for APS-C sensors and will cause heavy dark vignetting or crop your resolution significantly. Look for dedicated full-frame zoom lenses instead, even though they usually cost more. If you are a pure landscape photographer who shoots exclusively on a tripod with wide angles, you might not need the constant f/2.8 aperture or the built-in vibration compensation at this price point. You would be better off spending your money on a specialized ultra-wide prime lens tailored strictly for scenery.

How this rating was made

The score comes from one evaluation of the Amazon specification table against today's cash price, calibrated so most consumer electronics land between 65 and 88. Affiliate partnerships never change a score, and no brand pays for placement. Where the store withholds a specification, the model is told to treat it as unknown rather than assume a good value.
